Thanks to our wonderful community and gracious donors, we celebrated another successful Danberry Treasure Chest Auction and Gala last week. The event, which was held at Glass City Center, marked the 29th anniversary of this impactful fundraising campaign. This year also marks a new direction for Treasure Chest funds.

Mental health conditions in children are on the rise and often begin in early childhood. According to the CDC, 1 in 6 children aged 2-8 years old has a mental, behavioral, or developmental disorder. Early diagnosis and treatment is critical, however, children’s mental health needs are underserved due to increased cases, nationwide shortages of healthcare workers, and inadequate resources. This year, we decided to focus our efforts on combating this crucial public health emergency.

With over 450 people in attendance, the event raised more than $100,000 for the ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital. This money, in addition to a $17 million grant through Ohio’s Pediatric Behavioral Health Initiative, will assist ProMedica in building a comprehensive infrastructure that expands access to pediatric behavioral healthcare.
